Tutorfair has thousands of tutors, so it can sometimes be difficult to choose one! To help, we’ve created a guide to tutor profiles to help you make your decision. 


Tutor profile badges


Under the tutor’s profile picture you may see a range of different “badges” which are highlights of that tutor’s profile.



Verified: this tutor is Verified. This means that we have met them and seen all of their documentation in person (ID, DBS, qualifications). Although all our tutors go through an ID check online before their profile is published, only those with this badge have met the team  


DBS: this tutor has uploaded a copy of their enhanced DBS certificate (either valid within 1 year or registered on the update service) which has been approved by the Tutorfair team.


Qualified Teacher: this tutor has uploaded a copy of their teaching qualification (Prof GCSE, PGCE, SCITT, GTP, BEd, Foreign equivalent - certified QTS).


Oxbridge: this tutor has attended or is attending Oxford and/or Cambridge University.


Other Tutor Profile Badges


#+ Tutorfair hours: this tutor has completed more than the stated number of hours on Tutorfair.


Teach First: this tutor has completed the Teach First programme (check out our Support Centre to find out more about Teach First).


Certificates Checked: this tutor has uploaded digital copies of the qualifications stated on their profile we have checked them. 


Russell Group: this tutor has attended or is attending a Russell Group university.


Ivy league: this tutor has attended or is attending an Ivy League university.


Prizes or Scholarships: this tutor has won a prize or scholarship.


Degree: this tutor has a degree or is currently studying for a degree.


Volunteer: this tutor has volunteered for the Tutorfair Foundation which is our charity that provides tailored academic support to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.


Top Tutor 2021: this tutor has been awarded the Top Tutor badge because we feel they have distinguished themselves as outstanding tutors on our platform. 


Guide to Reading Tutor's Profile


Hourly rate: unless agreed otherwise, this is the tutor’s all-inclusive hourly rate. Some tutors will offer different rates for different Types of tutoring: in-person (usually at the student’s address, unless agreed otherwise), online, or at the tutor’s address


Reviews and references

Tutors must request 2 references before they can publish their profile and these references will be displayed on their profile. You can also see reviews from past Tutorfair clients in this section of the profile.


Tutorfair Client

This is a review from a client who has booked and paid for a lesson through the platform. 


Availability

Tutors are asked to update their calendar with available timeslots every week, but this should generally be taken as an indication of when they might be available for lessons. Please contact the tutor directly before booking a lesson.
