"Verified" tutors get enhanced visibility on our website because they have gone through an extra layer of verification including a recent enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (previously CRB) or equivalent check that's valid in the UK - these are the same checks schools use to establish suitability of working with children.
Each Verified tutor also needs a minimum of 2 references from previous clients (or relevant referees) and has presented documented proof of the highest qualifications listed. And finally, we meet every verified tutor either in-person or virtually. Tutors must have their video cameras on and present valid ID within the session.
Although we do our best to confirm the identity and credentials of all the tutors that appear on our website, we highly recommend that you carry out your own checks by asking them to bring the appropriate paperwork to the first lesson.
